About the DRA

Ozark Downtown Redevelopment Authority

Re-established in 2008, the Ozark Alabama Downtown Redevelopment Authority was formed to provide consistent support and promotion of the city’s downtown redevelopment projects, and create easier avenues for private developers to build and remodel in the downtown area. The authority’s main responsibilities include:

  • Public relations

  • Coordination with the City Council

  • Downtown planning and coordination

DRA Mission: To implement, promote, maintain and enhance a beautiful, safe and economically viable Downtown by focusing any and all resources, both public and private, to ensure the fulfillment of Downtown Ozark’s potential to the benefit of the entire regional community.

DRA Vision: The Downtown Redevelopment Authority’s vision is to see Downtown Ozark as inviting and thriving with an appealing and well-kept landscape of buildings, green space, sidewalks and streets. We hope to realize a revitalized Downtown that attracts residents and visitors to shops, restaurants, business, attractions and special events while promoting an overall general sense of community that embodies the spirit of the people of Ozark, their history and their successes.

The DRA works closely with the City of Ozark, Chamber of Commerce, and other government and civic organizations. The DRA also works directly with private investors and developers to attract and encourage new development projects in downtown Ozark.

DRA meetings are held at 5:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month in the City of Ozark Conference Center, Ozark Municipal Complex (2nd Floor). All meetings are open to the public and we encourage downtown building and business owners to attend. A copy of the agenda and minutes can be found on our Download page.

Have an idea about a downtown event or want to submit some feedback? Come to a DRA meeting or send an email to any member on the Contact page.
